Dallas County Conservation Volunteer Program

There are many reasons why a person would want to work in the field of conservation: to become an advocate for clean air and water quality; for preservation of our quickly vanishing wooded and reparian areas; to save natural habitat for wildlife and future generations; to restore the wetlands and prairies that were once drained and plowed; to learn more about local history, geology and archaeology; or, perhaps, to share your knowledge and special talents and with others.

If you'd lke to be a voice for nature and play an active role in something you strongly believe in, then you are invited to apply for a volunteer position with the Dallas County Conservation Department.

Our Dallas County Conservation Volunteer Program is entering it's 9th year, although individuals have been volunteering long before our program became offical. Each person who plants a tree or recycles or teaches their child environmental ethics is a partner in conservation.

Dallas County Conservation offers positions for adults, teens, youth and families. One can work on a regular basis, on a one-time project, serve on a planning committee or become a ranger on the trail or museum guide. It's interesting and guaranteed to be lots of fun!
